Obituary of Michèle Alma Brown

Michèle Alma Brown (1949 - 2024)

Michèle was the beloved wife to Wayne for 51 wonderful years.  She was the sister of Paul and predeceased by Julie and Marty; she always expressed her love for the three of them.  She will be missed by her in-laws (Ron and June, and Barbe and Jim, Larry, and Joan) and nieces (Jennifer, Jeri, Ria, Sherri and Sandra) and nephews (Dan and Eddie).

She was an exceptional teacher with the TCDSB until health issues forced her to take early retirement.  She taught all elementary grades and was admired by her students.  When she became the school librarian, she improved the library and instilled a love of reading in the students with her presentations.

When we moved to Unionville, Michèle played slow-pitch baseball.  It was a passion that her father instilled in her when she was young.  She was so good that she was enlisted to play on several select teams.  Her favourite position was short-stop.  She really enjoyed the wild and crazy away weekends with the ladies.

She loved her dogs and enjoyed walking them through her Markham neighbouhood where she became recognizable by many in the community.  She would stop and have very enjoyable chats with them and develop great friendships.

Her neighbourhood will miss her spectacular year-round gardens.  People constantly stopped to admire them and express their gratitude for adding such beauty to the neighbourhood.

A special thank you to her sister-in-law, Barbe, for the constant support that she gave, especially during her health issues, and she made Michèle’s life even better.
