Ian Murray Riddell – “What will be, will be”

June 27, 1964 – Nov 27, 2023

It is with incredible sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ian Murray Riddell, an amazing son, brother, Uncle and friend to all he knew.

Leaving to mourn his presence are his parents Ron and Barb, sister  Dina (Patrick) Woodford, Niece Brittany and Nephew Nicholas along with his favorite pal, Shanty. Also, a special part of his life was his dear friend Darlene Boire and her family and most adored grandbabies.

Growing up in Markham for over 30 years, Ian had the best childhood hanging with both the Main St and Peter Street gang. Being kids in the 70’s in Markham was the best.

Ian started his career with the Royal Bank in the early 80’s in the mailroom and eventually to G&D where he spent over 30 years.

Ian loved to spend his holiday time simply visiting Mom and Dad in Gravenhurst, reading and watching football or hockey with Ron.

Ian was a pretty simple guy, didn’t need much, just his family and friends around him. Ian was there for us and now it is our time to be there for him. We love you and will be forever missed.

Services with be with Dixon Garland Funeral home in Markham (Main Street). A gathering in Ian’s honor will be held Saturday Dec 2, 2023 from  2:00 – 4:00 pm.  A private family service will be held at a later date.
