Obituary of John B. Styles

He will be forever in our hearts...

John B. Styles

February 4th 1934 – June 18th 2023

John peacefully passed away, on Sunday, June 18th surrounded by his loving family. John was a caring husband of 67 years to his wife, Ann Styles, and a devoted father to John David (Karen) and Catherine (Dave Robertson).  Adored by his grandchildren Kelsey, Allie, Daniel and Lily, who lovingly knew him as “Pops”. Fondly remembered by his large, extended family including his older sister Celia Medina.

Born in Romiley, Cheshire, England, John was a keen football and cricket player. After a two-year enlistment in the RAF, John began his career in the travel industry. Ann and John married on October 1st, 1955 and emigrated to Canada in 1956 where he continued his career, first at Union Travel Service and then as the Head of Hudson’s Bay Travel Services.  On his retirement from the travel industry, John and Ann went on to operate a family business until their retirement.

John had a never-ending curiosity of the world, and an unwavering kindness towards others. He loved to travel, meet new people, spend time with family and be at the cottage on Diamond Lake.  John was an inspiration to us all and left us with many wonderful stories to share.

Donations in Johns name can be made to Markham Stouffville Hospital, Evergreen Hospice Markham or the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital.
