Obituary of Maureen Zolis

ZOLIS, Maureen (née Toye)

November 7^th, 1946 – March 25^th, 2018

After a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer, Maureen passed away peacefully at the age of 71, surrounded by her family at Markham Stouffville Hospital.  Maureen leaves behind her daughter, Laura (Anthony), her son, David (Sarah), and her much adored grandchildren: Jake, Jacob, Jessie, Samantha, and Jordyn.  Predeceased by her husband, Paul, parents Maurice and Irene Toye.  Survived by brothers Ted Toye (Barb) and David Toye (Ilda) and many beloved sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family.  For over 30 years, she spread her love for children and excelled in her career as an elementary school teacher.  She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered for her integrity, loyalty, honesty, selflessness, generosity, and devotion.  Please join the family to celebrate her life at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street North, Markham, on Wednesday March 28^th, from 5:00-8:00pm.  Donations can be made to Markham Stouffville Hospital’s Buy a Bear program through www.mshf.on.ca (Go to Gifts in Memory)
