Obituary of Mary C. Polson

POLSON, Mary Constance (CONNIE)

December 31, 1930- December 9, 2017

Connie passed peacefully, with family by her side, after a long and courageous struggle.

In life, Connie was known for her sense of humour, her love of travel and her way of making friends everywhere she went. Connie was the life of the party and the heart of her family.

She emigrated to Canada from Scotland, shortly after her marriage to Gordon, and she loved her life here. She was proud of her family and of her contributions to the community, including working at the Kerby Centre in Calgary, Alberta; in the Morrisburg, Ontario Public Library;  at the Simon Fraser House in Ste Anne de Bellevue, Quebec and doing volunteer work with seniors in Markham, Ontario.

Connie was predeceased by her sister, Catherine, and her brother Leslie Campbell. She is survived by Gordon Polson, her loving husband of 64 years, and their children: Carolyn Bowes (Greg), Alasdair Polson (Luranah), Valerie Romanzin (Gerald), and Irene Lough (Michael). She adored her grandchildren: Tristan and Jaqueline Hodd; Cameron, Duncan (Danielle) and Lachlan Polson; Quinn, Garrett and Metea Romanzin; Meighan and Graham Lough. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren: Adam, Jennifer, Emily and Sarah. She was looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild in March.

The family would like to thank the staff of Southlake Village for their kind care and support.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church at 143 Main Street North, Markham, Ontario) on December 18, 2017 at 12:00 p.m., with luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Arthritis Society would be welcome.
