Pruden, Shirley (nee Whitfield)
Born February 13, 1932, Shirley passed away February 1, 2016 at Markham Stouffville Hospital just before her 84th birthday. Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Cliff Pruden, mother of Kim Peters, mother-in-law of Doug Peters, grandmother of Michael Peters. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Lynda Turner, mother-in-law Lettie Pruden, and cousins Deane Ramsay-Goldsmith and Len Ramsay.
Shirley was born, married and lived in Winnipeg and worked for the Manitoba Government until retirement. She lived briefly in Vancouver, before she and Cliff moved to Markham in 1989. Shirley loved her family and friends and her Yorkshire Terrier, Maggie. A kind and thoughtful woman, she had many friends who played an important role in her life.
Friends will be received at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home 166 Main St. North (Markham Rd.) Markham on Thursday from 12noon until time of memorial service in the chapel at 1p.m. Follow by a reception and refreshments.
