Harvey Joseph Meek, age 83, of Markham, Ontario passed away peacefully on the morning of August 29th , 2026 with his loving wife Tina holding his hand.

  Harvey was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan to Joseph and Pearl Meek. He grew up in Abbotsford, BC. After several moves across Canada, he settled his family in

Markham in 1970. His sense of adventure and management career in business took him throughout Canada and all over the globe.

  Harvey was a long-time member of the Markham-Unionville Rotary Club, joining in 1973. He served as chairman and business administrator of many fundraisers and served as

President in 1980 and 1981. As a talented pianist and vocalist, he managed and sang in the Rotary choir. Harvey along with his wife and family especially enjoyed years of

volunteering at the Markham Fair Rotary Booth.

  Harvey was immensely proud of his family and was happiest when they gathered for holiday meals and get-togethers. He could often be found robustly playing the piano

and singing, adding to the happy chaos and noise of Harvey and Tina’s children and grandchildren visiting and creating family memories.

  Throughout Harvey’s life, he had extensive hobbies and interests. In addition to music and traveling with his family and friends, he enjoyed boating and waterskiing, snow

skiing, and poker. After retiring from the business world, he surprised everyone with becoming a talented hobby upholsterer and seamstress! He had a lifelong passion for

gardening.

  Harvey is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years; Tina, sister Trenna, his children Harvey Jr. (Kristina), Murray (Sarah), Kevin (Pamela), and Shannon, eleven

grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was loved and will be remembered by numerous other family members and special friends.

  A private gathering will take place at a later date.
