It is with unimaginable sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, William Joseph Andrew Fisher. Will passed away peacefully, wrapped in love, at Emily’s House paediatric hospice on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the tender age of 5. This followed a courageous, fierce 12-week battle with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare and devastating childhood brain cancer.

Will entered this world with a spirit ready to tackle it, filling his family's lives with joy, laughter, and endless adventure. He was the proud and devoted little brother of Ethan, age 7, who was not only his brother but his greatest hero, role model, and best friend. Will was the kind of child who lit up every room he entered. Sweet, funny, and remarkably empathetic for such a young boy, he had a special gift for making everyone around him feel important.

Before his diagnosis, Will only had one speed: 200 km/h. He embraced life with unmatched enthusiasm. Whether he was launching himself off the biggest jumps at Dagmar Ski Resort, perfecting his skills at Joyride 150, playing soccer for Team France with the Markham Soccer Club, or stepping up to the plate on the baseball diamond, Will lived every moment to its absolute fullest. He loved big water slides, travelling to Mexico for family vacations, eating churros, and helping his Mom and Dad with gardening and yard work.

Williams’ favourite place on Earth was the cottage. This summer, following his diagnosis on June 2, Will bravely completed 30 rounds of outpatient radiation therapy at The Hospital for Sick Children and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Throughout his treatments, his spirit never wavered. Supported by devoted friends at East Point Marina, Meagan and Andrew were able to make the cottage their home base this summer.  Surrounded by his "6-pack" of cousins, Will made the absolute most of his summer between medical appointments; fishing from the dock, jet skiing, biking, tubing, and spending hours jumping on the trampoline.

In his final days, Will spent a week at Emily’s House in Toronto, a warm children's hospice that provided profound comfort and peace. Enveloped by his parents, Ethan, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends, Will was held close through every moment. Together, his village listened to music, read books, shared stories, and cherished every precious second.

Though his time with us was far too short, Will's impact will last forever. He taught us how to love deeply, live fearlessly, and find joy in the simple things. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving parents, Meagan Cuttle and Andrew Fisher, and his big brother, Ethan. He leaves behind his devoted grandparents, Wendall and Joyce Fisher, and Jim Cuttle (Bernice); his aunts and uncles, Alison and Lee Slapkauskas, Andrew and Heather Cuttle, Colin and Ashleigh Cuttle, and Marc and Christine Cuttle; as well as his cousins Kayleigh and Matt Lindley (with children Charlie and Morgan), Ryan, Liam, Skylar, Eli, Lucas, Cohen, Jackson, and Evelyn. He is reunited in peace with his late Grandma, Suzanne Cuttle and cousin Grace Suzanne Cuttle.

Visitation will take place at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home (166 Main St N, Markham) on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Parish (5633 Hwy 7, Markham) on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.

William will be missed more than words can express, but his beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and enormous heart will be remembered every time a bike races down a trail, a baseball is hit into the outfield, skis fly over a jump, a fishing line is cast into a quiet lake, or a little brother looks up to his hero.
