John Peter Smith

August 7, 1928 - August 26, 2026

Although our hearts are broken, we are content knowing you are with Mom, your soulmate, your best friend, your wife of 74 years, Elizabeth Ann (Betty Ann). Your parents Cyril Peter Smith and Margaret Ellen, and your brothers Cyril and Richard all predeceased you. Left to share their memories of you are your children Rich (Sharon), Cathy (Ian), Patti (Rick), Peter (Monique) and Peggy (Doug). Your 10 grandchildren, Peter, Jackie, Caroline, Tom, Richie, Justin, Jordan, Jessica, Paul and Olivia will also keep your memories close. Your 16 great-grandchildren will carry on family traditions that have been handed down by you and Mom.

Dad cherished his family. He took immense pride in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  By sharing his life stories, family gatherings or just spending time together, he has given us all memories that will be treasured forever.Through life's challenges, he remained our rock, his kindness, strength and unwavering devotion, love and commitment to his family will be deeply missed and forever remembered. You were the best armchair critic when it came to your Blue Jays. They have lost a true and dedicated fan. Dad's legacy will live on in his family that he loved and his memories will be carried forward by all who loved him. We are forever grateful to have had this opportuniy to love you and to be loved by someone so special.

Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us eveyday unseen, unheard, but always near.
