Rosina (Ina) Bowie, 88, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 in her own home. After successfully beating cancer 5 years ago she was sadly faced with a new battle of complications.  Her quiet determination, perseverance and incredible strength was remarkable.

Ina leaves behind her beloved family Elaine (Brent), Barb (Tim), Linda (Paul) and her precious grandchildren Charlie and Samantha along with many special relatives & friends in Scotland and Canada.  Ina will be joining her husband Bill in heaven who left us on August 10, 2017. 

Ina left her beautiful Scotland to come to Canada with Bill and Elaine and Barb to seek new opportunities. Linda was born in Canada and the family settled in Markham. Working as a grocery store cashier and raising three girls with Bill filled her days. After retiring she was able to enjoy travelling with Bill and enjoyed lawn bowling, dancing and never turned down a visit to the casino.

Ina was so proud of her girls and her wonderful grandchildren. She took any chance she had to share stories of them with her friends.

Thank you for being such a wonderful Mum who loved her girls so much, who was an incredible wife of 58 years to Bill, who thought the world of her amazing grandchildren, who was so grateful for her son in laws and who was a special and loyal friend to many.

There are no words to describe how much you will be missed.  Rest easy with Dad … we love you. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to Evergreen Hospice would be appreciated. Although Mum was not a resident she supported the initiative of compassionate care and comfort that is much needed in the Markham community. 

A visitation and memorial service will take place at Dixon Garland Funeral Home on July 7th.  Visitation 10:00 - 11:00 am. Service in the chapel 11:00 am.
