Malcolm Peter Robert Lennox Obituary

Malcolm Peter Robert Lennox, age 91, passed peacefully on May 27, 2026. Beloved husband of Beverley (Bateman) for 69 years, Malcolm was the devoted first son of David F. Lennox and Grace M. Lennox (both predeceased). He will be deeply missed by his sons Andrew (Valerie) and Steven (Catherine), grandchildren Michael (Soyun), Robin (Robert), Julia and Mark (Brittany), and great-grandchildren Carter, Rowan, Rory and Remy, and brother Graeme (Lynn) and family, and close cousins Cory and Kim.

Malcolm cherished time with family at the Bateman country place and at his family cottage on 16 Island Lake in the Laurentians. A determined griller and joyful host, he created decades of memories at many family gatherings. Easter and Christmas were his specialty. A devoted fan of football generally, and of the Montreal Alouettes specifically, Malcolm loved sharing friendly game-day bets with his sons and grandchildren. This was a cherished weekly ritual that we already miss.

Professionally Malcolm built a respected career with Bell Canada rising through the ranks with dedication and integrity. Even after retirement, Mal continued to contribute his talents at Mitel, the Chimo Hotel, Sony and the Oakridge Golf Course. His colleagues respected him; his customers trusted him. Mal gave his time generously, earning the Paul Harris Fellow Award for his exemplary service at Rotary and later inspiring his Wyndham Gardens neighbours with his “Walk and Roll” initiative. Mal believed in community, in showing up and in making life better for the people around him.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will follow. The family thanks the staff of Markham-Stouffville Hospital for their care. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Heart & Stroke Foundation: https://www.heartandstroke.ca/
