Celine "Dulcie" Clark Obituary

Our loving mother Dulcie passed peacefully on May 19th, 2026, at the age of 92.

Dulcie grew up in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, in the towns of Delson and then Farnham. After high school, like many young women of her generation, she attended secretarial college. In her early years, she worked for an insurance company. After marrying, she and our father David raised our family in Roxboro, Quebec, and later Unionville, Ontario.

It was a happy life, they were a great team and the best parents. Mum and Dad were a wonderful example of love and mutual respect. Together, they taught us that taking the time for laughter, friendship, and enjoyment in life was just as important as hard work.

After David passed away, Dulcie moved to Markham, where she lived happily in Swan Lake Village for more than twenty years.

Dulcie was a long-time member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and made many friends there, while volunteering and fundraising for charity. She was a great cook, and an especially great baker. As many will remember, she was an incredible host who made everyone feel welcome. She loved having company over and took pride in serving wonderful meals. She was kind and generous, and she showed her love with food – there was always room for another chair at the table.

Most of all, she was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother. She put family first and was always there for us. With hugs, loving words, and quiet, steady support. We were so lucky to have her in our lives for so long, and we will miss her greatly.

We would like to thank York Region Paramedics and the ER staff of Oak Valley/Markham Stouffville Hospital for their compassion and care.

We would also like to thank the many incredible, caring staff at Sunrise Senior Living of Unionville, who went above and beyond every day, for making these last two years comfortable and happy.

She is survived by her daughters Alison (Scott), and Susan (Jim); and grandchildren Amy and Andrew; Patricia and Gordon.

She was pre-deceased by her husband David; parents Richard and Amy Jones (nee Benham); brothers Andrew and Stanley (Alice); sisters: Helen (George), Mary (René), Kathleen (Marcel), Jean, Alice (Reggie), Nancy (Ronald).

A Celebration of Life will be held at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home on Saturday, June 13th, 2026.

Visitation: 10:00 - 11:00am, Service: 11:00 - 11:30am, Reception: 11:30am - 1:00pm
