Glenn Herbert Barkey

November 13, 1952 – May 11, 2026

Glenn passed away unexpectedly in a bicycle accident in Pickering, Ontario, on Monday afternoon, at the age of 73.

He was born in Scarborough, Ontario, on November 13, 1952, Glenn was the son of the late Wilbur and Mary Barkey. He was also predeceased by his brother, Keith.

Throughout his life, Glenn’s work spanned many fields, including working on the family farm, at the family butcher shop, the IT industry and golf course maintenance. He was a devoted caregiver to his mother in her later years and carried on her spirit by baking pies to sell at his roadside stand.

He is survived by his brothers, Don (Diane) and Lynn (Laura). Glenn will be remembered by his nieces, nephews, and extended family members. The family takes comfort in knowing that Glenn has found lasting peace.

Friends and family of Glenn will gather at Cedar Grove Community Centre, 7667 14th Avenue, Markham, on Saturday, June 20th between 2 and 4 p.m.
