It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Neonila Golubeva on April 24, 2026, at the age of 91.

Born on September 28, 1934, in Tatarbunari, Ukraine, Neonila lived a long and meaningful life rooted in strength, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. In later years, she made her home in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, where she continued to be the heart of her family.

Neonila was a devoted mother to Elena Dubcenco and Irina Golubeva, a proud grandmother to Val Dubcenco (Elizabeth Kiselman) and Olia Garland (Neil Garland), and a cherished great-grandmother to Ilya, Liya, and Mason.

She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put her family first. Her warmth, strength, and sense of responsibility shaped generations.

Neonila had a deep love for gardening, took great joy in cooking for her loved ones, and shared a special bond with her beloved cat, Butsik. Known for her strong character and leadership, she carried herself with the same authority and care that defined her career as a Head Nurse in an operating room—often lovingly “bossing around” those closest to her, always with their best interests at heart. Her presence brought comfort, structure, and love to her family, and her legacy will live on in the lives she touched.                    

 A funeral service will be held on April 28, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Hills Cemetery, Stouffville.
