Passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Hospital on April 6, 2026 in her 91st year.

Predeceased by her late husband Edward McKenney. Beloved mother of two sons, Kim and Kelly and mother in law to Sherri and Desiree. Grandmother of four, Alexia, Josse, Quinn and Callum and great grandmother of Cedric. 

Barbara was someone who loved to be around people. She liked to participate in a wide range of activities, whether it was volunteering at the community centre, singing in the church choir, playing bridge or going to the theatre/ballet/symphony - she was always fully engaged…and her door was always open. How many friends and family were offered her bed when they came to town while she would sleep on the couch?

The family will be hosting a celebration of life in early August. Date to be confirmed but likely 6 or 7 August, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of Mom’s favourites – National Ballet of Canada, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, or Little Trinity Anglican Church.
