CALBERT, Mary Janet (nee Carter) Feb 9, 1930 - Jan 16, 2026

Passed away peacefully at Markham Stouffville Hospital on Jan 16th in her 96th year. Wife of the late Alfred Calbert. Loving Mother to Peggy (late Venny Lawrusik), Janice (Larry Couperthwaite), Herbert (Karen) and Peter (Connie). Loving Gramma/Nanny to her 8 grandchildren and Great Nanny to 12 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her siblings Ross, Lorne, Malcolm, Fred, Mildred, Grayce and survived by sister Hazel.

Mary loved cottage life at Kushog Lake where she and dad made many friends over the years. She enjoyed gardening, baking, reading, and word searches.

Special thanks to her PSW’s SRT Med staff, Dr. Patterson and the MSH Palliative Care Unit.

As per Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Final resting place will be at Whitevale Cemetery, 795 Whitevale Rd, Pickering ON at 11:00 am on May 23, 2026. Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the Uxbridge Legion. 109 Front St Uxbridge ON L9P 1J5 from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to MSH in Mom’s name.
