Ralph is survived by his children; Sheila (Grant), Judith (Mark), Sandra (George), Ross

and his grandchildren; Michael, Jacqueline, Erin, Nicholas, Sarah and Elaina and his sister Joan.

Ralph was predeceased by his wife, Stephanie, and sisters Norma, Helen and Lois.

Ralph began his teaching career first in Red Lake and then at Markham District High School

when it opened in 1954. As a math and computer science teacher and later an administrator his

passion for these subjects, and patience and engagement of his students, was always present

in his 30 year career in education. Ralph retired in 1984.

In 1954 with his new bride, Stevey, they joined Markham’s St. Andrew’s United Church. Ralph

found strength in his faith as a member for over 70 years. He was a dedicated congregation

member, active in the Couples Club, and saw the church through numerous changes over the

decades. His compassion for helping others before and after his retirement continued through

the Church.

He loved and treasured his time with his family. He spent time with friends, playing bridge, and

always had a puzzle on his table. He faithfully cheered on the Leafs, Raptors and Blue Jays!

Forever in our hearts, he will be missed.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to Kelly Nurnberger, for her care and

compassion and the numerous times she went out of her way to help Ralph and our family.

Visitation and Funeral service will be held at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street N,Markham, ON, on Saturday, January 24th, 2026.

Visitation at 1 pm, Funeral at 2 pm, reception to follow.
