Obituary of Susan Allana Cantafio

Cantafio, Susan Allana “Sue” (nee Gentle)
April 8, 1957 - December 12, 2025

On December 12th, 2025, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with an extremely rare and aggressive cancer, Sue passed away at Lakeridge Hospital with her loving daughter Kelly at her side Sue was the beloved daughter of the late Sydney and Elaine Gentle, and the loving mother of Kelly Cantafio. She was a proud grandmother to Hailey, Kayla, Gabriella, and Isabella. She was a loved sister to Sandra Phelan (Tom), a special aunt to Robin, Sean (Mary), and Connor, and a great aunt to Taylor and Devon.

Born in Toronto, Sue built her life there and lovingly raised her daughter, Kelly, who was the center of her world. In 2023, Sue purchased a home to be closer to Kelly and to help with her grandchildren. Together with Kelly and her niece Robin, she enjoyed making the house a home by personalizing, painting, and decorating

Sue was proud of her long and successful career with Canadian Tire, dedicating over 50 years of service and working with several dealers. Her exceptional work ethic, loyalty, and commitment earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and employers alike. She formed many lasting relationships throughout her career and took great pride in the work she did.

Sue faced her illness with remarkable strength, resilience, and dignity. Despite enduring a difficult and immensely challenging journey, she remained determined and brave until the very end"
