(November 28, 1943 - December 20, 2025)
He passed away peacefully in his sleep, leaving behind three grandchildren, two children and one legacy that will be remembered by many. He was a loving and devoted husband, great father, wonderful grandfather, remarkable brother, caring son, incredible friend, and a tremendous work mate. He was recognized by the City of Niagara Falls (Canada) as the first, and only, man to swim across the Niagara River into Canada. Though he has left us all with a hole in our hearts, he has given us amazing memories in which to fill them.
Visitation will be held at DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street Markham North, Markham on Saturday December 27, 2025 at 11:00 am. This will be preceded by the service at 1:00 pm, followed by the reception. This will be concluded with going to Elmwood Cemetery, 6150 hwy 7, Markham (north side of hwy 7) at 4:00 pm.
