It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Alissa Kent, who left us on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at just 30 years old. Born in Montreal and raised in Markham, Alissa most recently made her home in Toronto, where she was studying and building a bright future ahead.
Alissa had a warm, caring spirit and a natural ability to connect with others. She grew up playing many sports, with a special love for competitive skating and dance. Those who knew her will remember her kindness and her sense of humour. To many, she was simply “Al.”
She attended Ryerson University (TMU) and was on her way to completing her paralegal degree, a reflection of her determination and clear vision for her future.
Some of her happiest memories were made on the ski hills of Quebec, racing her sister down the slopes, laughing all the way; moments that will be cherished forever.
Alissa is lovingly remembered by her mother, Lisa, father, Matt, sister, Amanda, brother-in-law, Paul, grandmothers, Carmen and Anne, aunts and uncles, Kim, Michelle, Stephen, Ray and Chris, and her cousins Jordan, Tyler, Sydney, and Henry. She will also be deeply missed by many close friends who held her dear.
A visitation reception will be held on Sunday, November 30th, from 1:00–4:00 pm at Dixon Garland Funeral Home in Markham. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate Alissa’s life.
Though her time with us was far too short, Alissa’s warmth, strength, and gentle presence will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
