Obituary of Ruth Steckley

Marilyn “Ruth” Steckley

May 29, 1932 – November 7, 2025

Marilyn “Ruth” Steckley nee Kerr went home to be with Jesus on November 7, 2025, at the age of 93.

Devoted wife of the late Lloyd Steckley, for 49 years.  She was a loving mother to Judy, Janice, Joanne (Colin), Scott (Lauren) and Susan (Scott).  Loving grandma to the late Brenden, Christie (Scott), Chris (Nicole), Allison, Sarah (Matt) and Jessica.  Loving great-grandma to Isla, Aubrie, Noah, Olivia and Leo.

Ruth was born on May 29^th, `1932 to Claude and Maude Kerr of Stouffville, Ontario.  The eldest of three children.  Ruth is survived by her brother John (Irene) and was predeceased by her brother Robert (Bob).

Ruth served faithfully for many years at Heise Hill Church.  You could often find her in the kitchen, during events, for the hospitality committee and she also served with the Christians Women’s Committee of Stouffville.  Ruth had many pastimes; Quilting, Knitting, Baking and watching hockey.  Most of all Ruth loved spending time with her family.  She was always happy for a visit, even if she saw you yesterday.  Through her faithfulness and love of the Lord, Ruth loved those around her.  She has a way of making others feel special through small actions.

She is now at peace in the arms of Jesus, and reunited with the love of her life.

Parkview and the whole care team at RCC for their compassion and care that they provided for mom during her final days.
