With profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Robert John “Woody” McNeice, aged 83, on October 31st 2025.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Freda McNeice and by his daughter Stacy Lynne. Greatly missed by his wife Deborah, brother Ray (Margaret) and brother in law Harold (Josee). Also missed by his children Melanie (Mark) Daley, Bradley (Erika) and Amanda (Eugene). Loving grandfather to Caitlin and Emily Daley, and Ceilidh McNeice and uncle to nephews James Wilkes (Kelly), Matthew and Jeffrey McNeice
Bob was born and raised in Leaside, eventually settling in Unionville, Ontario. Aside from his family, Bob was equally proud of his work as a talented sign artist (Woody Custom Lettering) who honed his craft in an era where every last detail was created by hand. He loved baseball, racecars, the Beach Boys and unwinding with an ice cold Alexander Keiths. Bob loved all creatures great and small, never turning a blind eye to a wounded bird or a lost dog, and was equally enamoured with wildlife as he was with the many four legged friends that called the McNeice family home over the years.
Though Bob will be deeply missed, his family is comforted knowing that he is now free of the burden of Alzheimer’s disease, which he bravely battled for a decade. The family wishes to thank and acknowledge the doctors and staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital, Baycrest Health Sciences and Bendale Acres whose kindness never went unappreciated. The compassion with which Bob was treated allowed him to live out his final years in dignity.
A private interment of ashes will take place at a later date. Friends may visit and contribute to Bob’s online Book of Memories at Dixon Garland Funeral Home.
