Joseph Murray

Obituary of Joseph Bruce Murray

It is with deep sadness that the family of Joseph Murray announces his peaceful passing in Stouffville at the age of 87.

Beloved husband of Carole, Joe was a devoted and loving family man who’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his children; Joanne (Mike) and Ross (Leedah).  He was a proud grandfather to Jen (Rob), Bruce, James, Spencer, Sarah, Melissa (Hutch) and Tyler (Daniella).  A cherished great grandfather to Kenzie, Jack, Maggie, Mason and Isabella.

Joe started his life in the financial industry, but determined that that was not where his passion was.  He went on to build a business around one of his hobbies, model airplanes.  He has left a legacy in the model airplane space.

He had many passions in life, from skiing, curling, and golfing, he made many lifetime friends whom he enjoyed spending time with.  But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with Carole, his wife of almost 66 years.  They shared a deep love for each other and was very evident to all who knew them.

Visitation will be held at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 10:00am until time of service in the chapel at 11:00 am.  Private family burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

The Family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Evergreen Hospice and the wonderful staff at the Stouffville Creek Retirement Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joe’s name to the Everygreen Hospice
