Heartfelt condolences are sent you Theresa and family. It was difficult I am sure to witness Richard suffer but now at peace there are many memories of him to cherish . Meeting Richard the few times, I knew this gentle man was kindhearted and dedicated to you Theresa . I recall the “chip” runs you would ask of him. That made me laugh! Having read his obituary I truly I admire his bravery and courage! Bless you Theresa!

I spent alot of time as a kid at the Burrows' homes, both on Church Street and the two on The Queensway. Glenna was my Godmother and my sister and l had alot of fun and laughs with Richard, Joe and Lori Jane. Richard was the quiet one and reminded me so much of his Dad, John. John used to call him Dick sometimes, just to tease him. You could 'let your hair down' at their place as they were so easygoing. I was visiting their home north of Old Homestead when Richard had started his first landscaping business. We had a chat and then Richard went outside to cut the lawn. Joe remarked "He won't leave that lawn alone, he's crazy for it". Richard had found his true calling indeed. God Bless to Joe, Lori and Richard's family at this sad time. In Loving Memory of our dear neighbour, Richard Burrows
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:21
It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we remember our dear neighbour and friend, Richard Burrows, who passed away peacefully. Richard was not only our gardener—he was a beloved part of our daily lives, a man of integrity, kindness, and quiet strength.
Richard served our families, whom he loved to call "Gendi Nation", with unwavering honesty and joyful dedication. His work reflected his character—careful, thorough, and beautifully exact. A true perfectionist, Richard found dignity in every task, no matter how small, and left behind a legacy of excellence in every hedge trimmed and every flower planted. He brought laughter and life to our gardens and our homes, always with a twinkle in his eye and a warm word for everyone.
Through years of hardship and physical suffering, Richard remained resilient, patient, and full of endurance. His perseverance reminds us of the words of Romans 5:3-4:
“We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
He was a man of quiet faith and humble service, an example of what it means to run the race with endurance (Hebrews 12:1). He has now entered his eternal rest, and we rejoice in the promise that:
“Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord… they will rest from their labour, for their deeds will follow them.” – Revelation 14:13
Our family mourns the loss of Richard deeply. His presence will be sorely missed in our home, our hearts, and our gardens.
We extend our sincere prayers and love to his devoted wife, Mrs. Theresa Burrows, and family, praying that she may find comfort in the Lord who “heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).
Farewell, dear Richard. You fought the good fight, you finished the race, and you kept the faith. May you rest in peace and rise in glory.
With our sincere love and prayers,
Amal & Sue Gendi on behalf of The Gendi Nation

My sincerest condolences to Theresa and your family. Richard was one of the kindest, hardest working people I’ve ever met. Having worked with him him for two years at York Region I always looked forward to his funny stories and enjoyed learning many aspects of the job from him. He will be sadly missed. RIP Richard.

So saddened to hear about your loss. Brad and I, both, loved the times spent with you and Richard. His wonderful sense of humour and the loving and devoted manner he maintained with the dynamo love of his life - it was simply inspirational. The world will be a little bit of a sadder place without the kind, gentle, funny Richard Burrows.God speed Theresa
