Karl Denby

Obituary of Karl Arthur Frank Denby

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Karl Arthur Frank Denby has
departed from this world, his final time being spent in the presence of loved ones.

This breaks our hearts, but ends his road of suffering for which we are glad.

Karl was born in Orangeville Ont. and raised primarily in Unionville Ont., after a brief
unique period in the arctic. He married and spent most of his adult life raising his family,
living and working west of Toronto.

He was living in Caledon East, with his loving partner Susan Reeves at the time of his
passing, they had recently moved to a new home which they were quickly making their
own with backyard enhancements. He was a valuable employee and friend to many at
Paramount Power in his final years.

Karl faced recent health battles with courage, care, optimism and grace; he fought with
strength and commitment to stay with us as long as possible, and to create lasting
memories we will cherish forever.

Karl was a dedicated, proud and loving father to his two sons, James Wyatt Denby and
Jordan Kale Denby, who will carry his legacy forward through their lives reflecting their
genuine characters which he helped to shape.

Karl maintained a close connection with his parents, Jean and Doug Denby, by phoning
them every Friday evening in his last decade. He is also survived by his sister Tanja
Hunter and his brother, Sean Denby, who gallantly tried to prolong Karl’s life by
administering CPR.

Karl loved the outdoors, enjoying canoe trips with his sons, friends and family
throughout his life, and most recently finding peace in his new backyard oasis. He
progressed through the ranks of Scouting as he grew up and gave back as a volunteer
leader as an adult. He was also an avid Trekkie from childhood, an amateur car
mechanic, classic car and auto racing fan, and often had tropical fish.

Like Spock, he held to the belief that logic was critical to maintaining sanity but knew the
power of emotion and personal connections.

He honoured himself, and those around him, throughout his life; leaving us with many
happy memories and humorous tales to share that will bring comfort as we continue our
journeys without him at our sides, but always in our hearts.

Forever loved, never forgotten, we will miss you Karl, more than words can express.

Please join us in remembering Karl by sharing a few words or memory on this page, so
we can all share in keeping him alive in our hearts and minds forever.

Thank you to the Oncology team at Credit Valley Hospital for their dedication to
treatment cycles which allowed Karl and his loved ones to enjoy the last years as much
as possible, and the support provided by Brampton Civic Hospital to the family in his
final time.

If interested, donations towards Cancer Research in his name would be appreciated,

Memorial event details will be shared when available.
