Obituary of Ann Marie Knox
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Marie Knox on June 2nd, 2025 at the age of 80 at the Hill House Hospice. Ann passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Loving wife of Anthony (Tony) Knox. Beloved mother of Cavan (Nina) and Ryan (Elizabeth). Very proud grandmother of Ruari, Ronan, Sloane, Declan and Desmond. Sister to Paul (Gillian)and her late brother Terry.
Ann was born on October 18th, 1944 in Larne, Northern Ireland. Shortly after getting married, Ann and Tony moved to Canada (Lachine, QC) in 1970 and began their life in a new country. In 1983 they relocated the family of four to Markham, Ontario and began to build new lifelong friendships within the community there.
A devoted wife and mother, she always put her families' needs first. Ann was known for being a "second mom" to many of Cavan and Ryan's close friends growing up and the Knox home was a place where everyone was welcome. Spending time with her friends was something she greatly cherished. Ann was an avid reader, loved gardening and found great enjoyment in watching sports on TV (Olympics, Habs/NHL, World Cup). She made great effort to show up and cheer on her kids and grandkids at their numerous games played at hockey rinks and soccer pitches across the GTA.
Ann will be remembered for her kindness, elite conversational skills, excellent organization, a wonderful sense of humour and the incredible bravery and grace she showed all of us in her final year.
Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hill House Hospice for their outstanding care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in memory of Ann Knox to Hill House Hospice.
