In Loving Memory of Frederick “Fred” Ashmead

September 28, 1951 – May 23, 2025

With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Fred Ashmead, who passed away peacefully on May 23rd, 2025 at the age of 73.He faced a long and difficult battle with strength, resilience, and grace; never losing his warmth or his wit, even in the hardest moments.

Fred was a dedicated husband, a proud father, and a deeply loved grandfather. He is now reunited with his late wife, Cindy Ashmead, whose memory he carried with him every day.  Fred leaves behind his two sons, James (Ashley) and Greg (Sabrina);  his cherished grandchildren, Laura, Daniel, and Olivia; his mother, Ina; three brothers, three sisters and their extended families. Fred had a lifelong passion for being present—for his family, his community, and especially for his sons, whose sports teams he coached for many years. When his coaching days ended, his role shifted seamlessly into that of their biggest fan, never missing a game or a chance to cheer them on. He had a sharp sense of humor, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood. Fred enjoyed the quiet rituals of everyday life—sudoku puzzles, flipping through flyers, and road trips up north—each one a quiet reminder of the steadiness and warmth he brought to the lives around him.
