Obituary of John Gogas

In Loving Memory of John Gogas 
February 16, 1954 – May 12, 2025

It is with utter sadness that we announce the passing of John Gogas on May 12, 2025, after a courageous and brief battle with cancer.

Born in Banitsa, Greece, on February 16, 1954, he immigrated to Canada at the age of 14 with his family in search of new opportunities. Through strength, resilience, and hard work, he built a beautiful life for his family. 

He was a devoted husband, a proud father and dedo, a cherished son, brother, uncle, cousin, and a loyal friend. Known for his strength and sharp sense of humour, he brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. His presence lit up every room, and his absence leaves a deep void in our lives. 

He will be missed dearly by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

You left us beautiful memories,
your love is still our guide.
Although we cannot see you,
you’re always at our side.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital for cancer research, in honour of his memory.
