It’s been just over two months since Andrea left us and I miss her so much. Every time I think of something funny, or Scottish, or a great movie or TV show, I want to call her. I think about her, Andy, Elona and Justin every day.. always in our hearts!

It was so lovely knowing Andrea. She attended my wedding shower and it was so nice having her there. She had a great time and I love the candle that she gave me as a gift. When I light it, it makes me think of her. I will miss her.

I met Andrea when I moved to Unionville and worked with her when decorating my home. We soon became friends and that friendship evolved over the years to a very deep friendship. She was a beautiful, witty, fun, kind and compassionate person. Whenever we got together for our coffee or lunch dates, our conversations would go on for hours. We shared confidences, stories and laughs, and never ran out of things to talk about.
She loved her family deeply and was very proud of her daughter Elona and grandson Justin.
Andrea was a very dear friend and I will miss her tremendously.

Dear Andy, Elona, and, Justin
I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear of Andrea’s passing. She loved you all so dearly.
I first met Andrea in 2009 when she was working at Home Source. I knew we were going to be fast friends when she came to my home as a decorator. Andrea entered my home and immediately recognized my Scottish mother in a photograph, they knew each other from Holt Renfrew. We discovered other ties too, one of my best friends was friends with her friend Effie. Andrea was always dressed impeccably, there was never a hair out of place, and her lipstick was always in place. Andrea was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.
I will always cherish our shopping trips, lunches, and the wee bit of gossip over a glass of wine. Most of all, I will always cherish our friendship.
We were to meet for coffee next week, February 26th or 27th. Instead, I will have a glass of wine the afternoon of the 26th and toast my friend.
I will miss you Andrea.
With my affection and deepest condolences.
Alison

Despite not being my actual grandmother Mrs. Raaber always felt like one to me. She was the kindest person and always made me feel so special as a kid when she would take me out to celebrate our shared birthday. I will cherish those memories forever.

Dear Elona, Justin and Andy,
I’m so saddened and shocked to hear about Andrea. She was so welcoming when we moved in next door in 2000. Even though we were only there for 2 1/2 years, the friendship that was built carried through the years. Andrea was so kind and welcoming to us and our young children, even inviting us to her home on a Christmas morning to open the gifts she had gotten for them. She also helped us stage our home when we were moving…set it up so beautifully with her special elegant touch. Praying for God’s peace and comfort for all of you during this very difficult time. Love and hugs, Gina Hill and family

Dear Andy, Elona and Justin, my heart is heavy with sadness at the passing of Andrea. I’ve known her since secondary school in Edinburgh and have so many, many great memories of times spent together. Andrea had such a lovely smile and I am always grateful to her for picking me up for lunches since Robert passed away. We were to go out for lunch on Sunday 9th February and I’m so devastated we won’t be able to go out for lunch again.
What an absolutely beautiful tribute to your mum Elona. Your words are so true. My sincere sympathy to you all and may all your good memories comfort you through this very sad time.
Rest in Peace my friend.
Lots of Love, Grace and family

I am truly shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Andrea.
I first met her when she came to visit her mum at the Care Home in Edinburgh.
We became friends from then on and I would always see her when I visited Toronto.
I just cannot believe that she is gone.

I have so much admiration and respect for this incredible woman. Her character was truly one of a kind, and what sticks with me most is her sense of humor—dry, sarcastic, and always perfectly timed. She had a way of making any moment lighter with a funny comment. She loved her family deeply and through her, I saw just how amazing it is to be a mother. Her relationship with Elona was something so rare and beautiful, and I feel grateful to have witnessed it over the years. It has shaped the way I approach my own relationship with my kids. She always looked effortlessly beautiful, with a sense of style that I can only admire and never quite achieve—just one of her many rare gifts. I feel so lucky to have known her. She was truly one of a kind.

I will miss Andrea in many, many ways. 47 years of friendship; many, many laughs together; getting in trouble together; but most of all - a willing, warm ear. It just won’t be the same without Andrea.
