TOWSON, Vivian - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vivian Towson (nee Bradley) on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Dr. R. Thomas Towson and the late James H. Stewart. Much loved Mom of Nadine Cooper and Brad Stewart and extended family Shelagh Towson and son Brendan; Barry and Barbara Towson and sons Dan and Eric. Cherished Nana of Brett and Carly Cooper, Daniel Stewart and James Trude. Mom will be missed by her former work buddies of 21 years in the office of Dr. Rosiland Zucker and Dr. Gail Porter at their semi-annual pot luck dinners. Her curling and bridge friends, and Barbara Benfield her Kawartha neighbour will all miss her love, friendship and zest for life. Mom and Tom travelled extensively and took every opportunity to work in some scuba diving a sport they loved. As members of the Scarborough Underwater Club and active officers of the Association of Canada Underwater Councils, they took turns receiving the Governor Generals Award for their dedication to the sport. Both slightly xenophobic Canadians, they trailered Canada coast to coast with their dog and cat. Mom found her utopia sitting on the deck of her Lakefield home watching the river - hopefully we can all be that fortunate. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 14, 2012, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main St. N. (Markham Rd.), Markham. Service will be held on Monday, October 15th, 11 a.m. in Chapel. The family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice. www.dixongarland.com
